PNG is the governance token of Pangolin on Avalanche. It is used for providing liquidity in pools, single-sided staking, and voting on protocol changes. PNG has reached its maximum supply of 230 million tokens with zero ongoing inflation, following a tokenomics update that reduced the emission schedule from 28 years to four years.

Description

Pangolin is a decentralized exchange protocol deployed across multiple blockchain networks. Users swap tokens and provide liquidity directly from their own wallets through smart contracts. The V3 implementation uses a concentrated liquidity model where liquidity providers allocate capital to custom price ranges rather than across the full price curve. Liquidity positions are minted as transferable NFTs that encode range, pair, and fee tier data. Fee rates adjust dynamically to market volatility, with multiple static fee tiers also selectable per pool. Superpools distribute dual rewards combining the protocol governance token with a partner token. In-range farming rewards positions that remain within a designated target price range. A staking mechanism called Sunshine and Rainbows (SAR) allows single-sided token deposits with compounding reward accrual.
